Session

A Presbyterian Church is administered by elders. Elders are elected by the congregation and ordained to rule the church through a committee called "The Session." At St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Owen Sound , elders are elected for a 5 year term. One fifth of the session retires each year and new elders are elected to keep the Session number at 15. This group, along with the minister and the Christian Education Director, deal with issues of leadership, outreach, mission, education and worship.

One of the elders also serves as our representative to the Presbytery of Grey-Bruce-Maitland.
